Yizhou Shen is currently a Phd student in Solid Mechanics at Northwestern Polytechnical University. He received his Master's degree (2022) in Aeronautical Engineering  from Northwestern Polytechnical University, and his Bachelor's degree (2019) in Aircraft Design and Engineering from Nanchang Hangkong University.

Yizhou is interested in elastic waves and structural vibrations,which are fundamental forms of energy transfer occurring in the wall panels of large-scale equipment or the substrates of micro-devices. He seeks to develop new designs of metamaterials, metasurfaces or other meta-structures using interdisciplinary insights from mechanics, physics, geometry, materials, and information science, to control wave propagation and vibration behavior in elastic media. He also focuses on a fundamental understanding of unconventional behavior of wave and vibration in complex systems, and their engineering applications.
